No Beginners Luck Here!

As promised, I am sharing the results of my first attempt at French Macarons.....Hahahaha,  you can see, they did not turn out as planned. Maybe I shouldn't have tried doing them this morning, while trying to pack up to leave...Maybe?!

I had intended on putting my entire self, body and mind, into it on Saturday, but the weather was grand and the Mr. wanted to till the garden and when you live in the Pacific NW, you never want to miss any opportunity to get the garden going because it could start raining and never stop until June.

They actually taste really good....chewy like candy.

So the sad story is, I think I over worked the batter and probably a few other errors too.  When I get a chance, I will go online and look up some photos of failed results...Something tells me that mine might be one of the worse.

But I will never give up, this flop will not deter me from trying until I get. I have many more videos to watch and more experts to examine. Stay tuned.

I must be off, wishing you all a marvelous Monday! xo

Haha - love seeing failed attempts! I have so many of my own that I appreciate anyone who keeps it real. And I'll just bet you'll get it the next time around. Maybe they can be crumbled and added atop ice cream???

Well, I think you did great for your first attempt. I have a good friend who made them for her sister's bridal shower, and she went through many attempts before getting them right! I will have to ask her what the secret was and let you know!! They look yummy!! Have a great night!! xo Heather

I have thought about trying these, but have heard they are a bit hard to master! Love that you shared this with us! I have MANY failed attempts in the kitchen!

We all learn from our own failed attempts, and now we can learn from yours too! Wasn't it a great weekend? I love how PNWers react to good sunny weather, they never take it for granted.

Sherri
Where's the coconut? Don't the French use it in their macaroons?
They still look tasty, besides I've never met a cookie I didn't like!
I think you're brave for sharing your failures, as well as success.

And so you were stuck eating all those tasty looking failures. Oh, the injustice of it all. ;)

I always stir things slightly less than I should when baking because I have a phobia of overdeveloping the gluten. But at least yours LOOK pretty!
