Valentines Colors

Every Valentines Day, I remember my daddy showering my mother with wonderful things. There were big frilly red hearts filled with the best chocolates, cards detailed with satin ribbon and lace and, of coarse, the long stemmed red roses and dinner at the Pink Feather, a favorite steak house of my parents. With these fond memories, I have never strayed far from the traditional colors that this special day brings.
A nice surprise arrived in the mail a few months ago from Kat, Princess and the Pea blog, and I immediately knew I would save it for Valentines decor. I had sent her some pieces of fabric to help add to a future project she has planned and this is what she created for me...

Is this not the cutest fabric art piece around? She is so talented!

I will treasure this always and it will have a place of honor every year...Thanks Kat, you are a doll!

MEYER LEMONS ! ! ! I almost let out a loud screech of delight right in the middle of Costco!
For those of you that have this growing in your yard or grandmas garden, lucky you. But, living in the Pacific Northwest, pretty much the only way you are going to get it from someones tree is if a friend brings it back from a visit to California and you are on their very favorite person list.
Daughter suggests that I make lemon bars with these and that is what will be happening in my kitchen tomorrow. I will share the recipe with you and photos too.
Have a wonderful Saturday.

That fabric art pieces is super cute, and definitely perfect for Valentine's Day.

They sell Meyer lemons at Costco, eh? I've always been a little curious. Might have to check our local store to see if they have them in stock. Would love to make some lemon curd.

Ooooh yes please - looking forward to seeing the recipe for those lemon bars.

I really like that little bird. Lucky you.

And lucky mum for getting all that spoiling from your dad. Perhaps I could print out that part of your blog and leave it on my DH's pillow :) xx

I chose well with the colours didn't I... I must have known! I very nearly kept him for myself I was so pleased with him!
