I though I would take this opportunity to share a meal that has been a go to for me on many occasions through the years.
If you do not have one of these steamer baskets, I stongly suggest getting one to have in your kitchen arsenol..it is a must. Turn the heat on, put in the basket and add water.
Last night I scrubbed up some potatoes and carrots quartering the potatoes and slicing the larger carrots in half lengthwise...most were small, sweet and thin.
Last, I cut large chunks of Polish Keilbasa rope sausage and added that to the pot with a sprinkling of dill weed to top it off. On goes the lid and about 20 minutes later....
Dinner is served and only one pot to clean. You can do the same thing with a Dutch oven or larger pot if you have a steamer basket that opens wide.

Now I will attempt to do a Linky trick so that we can all share....Hopefully, it will work and we can all go visiting each others blog...Off I go now...
Well, I couldn't figure it out and have no more time to waste on it, I have to travel today....I'm sorry and must say, very disappointed and am sick of feeling stupid over tech things....Maybe someday I'll figure it all out.

I have the same pot in red and it is awesome! Everything that comes out of it is so tasty!!
Do I see that you have it on your ceramic top stove? I thought it would crack the ceramic...
I love those steamer baskets! I've always used them in saucepans (as my grandma did) and I've not tried them in a pot like yours. I shall know better, now...
oh my I haven't used one of those steamer baskets in years (decadess)!..off I go to get one!
I love your pot ..did you say you did your steel cut oats in it all night???,,,hmm thats sounds wonderful...I shall have to google it ..unless you want to do a tutorial down the road!
never fear about the tech stuff ...we are many working thru it all!
I have one of those steamers!!! It's missing one little piece but it still works - I need to get it out and use it!!! Thank you for the reminder...and the "link"...
I'm so glad someone else has a bit of a hard time too...

Don't beat yourself up! I literally spent hours, no-almost all day trying to make a Linky Follower for my blog. I created an account, but still can't attach it to my blog site!
I love your green pot. I've got a smaller red one. It would be my favorite for the same reason you've stated.
Ooo, I love your favorite pan. And we get a good recipe to boot!
Lovin' the pretty color of your pot and dinner looks really good:@)
Mmmm... Tasty !!
I thought about doing a 'Linky' with my favourite pan... but got embarrassed as it is a 40 year old crusty (well seasoned !?!) cast iron skillet...
Remember- Rome wasn't built in a day. And much of this computer gadgety stuff is complicated !!

I can see why you love that pan. I'd like one like that for myself someday. We have one dutch oven from Costco that we use for everything (from roasting chicken to baking bread). It's great, but I'd love to have them in all different sizes. In particular, I've got my eye on the white le creuset line.
As for that steamer, that's something that my grandma always had in her kitchen. Same with my mom. I've got one, too, but one of the stands is broken. I'm always looking for a replacement whenever I visit our local thrift stores.
Love your pot that is so beautiful....
My oven quit this week so I'm wondering which pot I could make this same dinner in....thanks for the idea and inspiration to cook on top of my oven an entire meal in one pot!....
wow...perfect! and it looks soo yummy. thank you for the tip!
I am your newest follower..pls follow back if you can.
I love the color of your pan! and your dinner looks delicious!
I love heavily salted carrots. I know I'm weird.
