There, but for the Grace of God, go I

The story continues to worsen for the people of Japan. I am heartsick and can barely put words together to describe the muddled emotions that are going through me right now. I pray but the heaviness in my being will not lift. Where do those on that island begin and what pieces will be left to work with?

There, but for the Grace of God, go I. For those of you who do not know, the Pacific Northwest is on a horrible fault line...from California all the way up to the border of Canada and beyond. The Little House is on an island and right by the beach...and so it goes, the photos are real and the truth of the matter is real...this could happen to us and I am not ready, in more ways than one. Living every day as if it were the last is important, because it really could be the last.
Dear Lord, please be with the people of Japan, only you can help them with what is to come. Amen.

It is so sad. I hope and pray that this disaster will somehow not be as bad as the Haiti earthquake. It may already be as we will hear alot more in the time to come.
Someone they interviewed from the US that lived in Japan said he had prepared care packages in case something like this happened. He was giving them out now. They had things like a t shirt and survival items.
I am sure that you are worried. Maybe planning ahead might make you feel better.
Praying with you.

Perfectly said and perfectly given to God...
We have earthquake all year in Alaska I don't know why I always feel a little better when they let off steam and move a little, that probably sounds silly. Have a wonderful Sunday Miss Sheri, you are a sweetheart.

It is so tragic, and the images from Japan are heart breaking. It really puts things into perspective. It really got me thinking that we need an "emergency kit" in my house. Prayers and thoughts for Japan.

We live around that same fault line..the Jaun de Fuca fault line. We have always has earthquake drills etc..but the reality is the water issue.

Many thoughts and prayers to our Japanese neighbors...first Christchurch, now Japan , that ring of fire is heating up..

Peace to you and your family, that only God can give.

Oh and I was thinking, we need to put the kit outside the house where it would be easy access if the house fell down.

I was removing carpet from an ederly couple's house and they had their "earthquake" tub, shoved waaaaaaaay back in the closet. My thought then and now is they are prepped but will not be able to access it.

It would be prudent for all of us to prep and leave it outside in and dry spot.

I've just read that a man has been found floating on the roof of his house 15km out to sea so miracles are happening. I just hope they continue to find people alive over the coming days.

We are so lucky in England we generally move with the fault as we are right on top of it, we very rarely feel a quake. Even the tiny ones are terrifying though, I can't imagine how that one must have felt.

Hope all is well with the little house - has there been any sign of the wave?

I cannot believe the massive devastation that has happened. I am so frighted for these people with the nuclear plant problems.
