The beginning of another week is here, actually the last week of summer. I hope you all had a fun weekend and maybe were able to squeeze a bit more into the final bit of the season. Our garden is still in production mode so I have been busy with that. Speaking of gardens and producing, we have another giveaway entry over at the other blog, The Kitchen Calls. Please head over there and take a look. Remember, the drawing for the cookbook is Friday and the details are on the sidebar.

The chickens had an end of summer Shindig last night so I grabbed the camera to share some shots of the event.

Look at those gorgeous happy chickens! I am do glad they had a lovely time!
I am too sad today, yesterday we lost little Hazel. A bad bulb and a cold, wet night. PG was absolutely devastated and inconsolable. I don't know when I will be ready to get another chick.

Is "cornfields" a real movie? Just curious!
Those are some good looking chickens!
I am glad you all enjoyed the post and thank you for the nice words about the chickens, I will pass it on to them.
Melissa - I hope my email helped you out with the comment problem. There seems to always be something we need to address..ugh!
Lola Nova - I am so sorry about your loss. It is truly heartbreaking when we lose one of our precious feathered friends....there's just no way to make it any easier for the young ones to cope with it - so sad.
Camp and Cottage - Yes, there seems to be many different movies with that title, here is what Bing.com came up with http://www.bing.com/search?q=the+cornfields+movie&go=&qs=n&sk=&sc=1-20&form=QBLH
