Hand Print Fabric

A quick post to say "I miss you all". I have been so, so busy with different family projects that I just now got a chance to take a shot of this and say a few words.

I need to put this piece of hand printed fabric in the shop but don't really know if it is called burlap or something else (that would sound better).
It is a pretty cool piece, it measures about 46" x 42". I'm sure someone would love it for a project but I want to call it by the proper name.

Can anyone help out with this?
Thanks, I will check back in this evening.

Is it barkcloth?

It's hard for me to say without feeling it. It isn't burlap. It doesn't look quite like barkcloth either but, you could call it a 'loose woven hand print' and describe the heft or stiffness/softness and if it is rough to the touch or not. Ummmm...don't know if that helps.

It looks hand woven to me as well as hand printed. I specialised in weave at university, the narrowness of the finished piece and the slightly wavy lines of weave, to me indicate hand loom. It looks like it may have been produced as a sample of a new design to me. I could be wrong, I'd have to feel it to be sure. If the selvedge is quite rough (and loopy) I would definitely suggest hand weave.

Hope this helps, it's a lovely print.
