New Beaks

Introductions are in order, two new little chicks were hatched out by this proud mom about 2 weeks ago. One of them stretched out and posed for the camera, showing off the attractive stripes on the wings, how cute.

Here is another new addition...to the chicken run. The land owners were kind enough to let us fence in this field for a massive free range area where they will never run out of bugs, worms or any of the wonderful things that make chickens happy and healthy.

I am so thrilled with our garden this year! We have tried and failed for several years, the soil was just too horrid, so we let it be for a year with straw and chickens roaming and scratching. As you can see, no need to go to the Farmers Market for beets or......

Dinosaur kale, which we started from seed on a table in the living room.

Green beans have always been a favorite of mine to grow and this is a milestone for this garden as every time they started climbing, they would shrivel and die..not this year!

Just look at them climbing for the heavens...."It makes my heart soar like a hawk". Does anyone remember what movie that quote was from, I think it was in the 70's ?

We will be working on the shed this weekend that will be the home of my Etsy Stockshop. I will be sharing some of the progress on this as we move toward the reveal of the newly remodeled and restocked shop this fall, stay tuned.

Do you have a project you will be working on or some well deserved fun planned for the weekend?

Have a good one! xo

Wow the little chicks are so sweet, I am sure your chickens will be delighted with the new room to roam and search for tasty bugs. Good to hear your garden is going well it sure does look like you have a nice crop.

I will be working with Tipper in hand, I did a bit today and he was quite good, so that will be my project and my fun.
Regards
Edward

Oh, that is so great! I wish everything of mine wasn't dead right now. :( It is cool that you get to annex that land for a chicken run. I bet you have some super happy hens.

I think that it so cool that you have chickens. Your crop is looking fantastic.
Today we did some shopping for Sam's school start and not much else. Oh yes, plum cake at Mom's house. Tomorrow weeding, if it doesn't rain.

I am excited to see the progress of the shed and the new headquarters for your Etsy shop!

Thanks for the link to all the tomato tarts. I'm sure I can find a recipe somewhere in there. Don't they look tasty?

Your garden looks great, and congrats on the new chicks! We grew beets this year too, and I picked them as babies and pickled them - they were so good that i replanted, and we're almost ready to enjoy a second harvest. I love beets. Everyone thinks I'm weird, but I truly love beets!

Everything is perfect in your garden. It could had been better if you have a garden shed in the middle of it.
