It's 5 o'clock and Jack the dog is letting us know that we need to go for our walk. Dad always takes him but mom and Maggie sometimes stay back. this afternoon we all go and check out the old orchard. I see one of my very favorites are in bloom, the lilac. It is a big old bush at the base of the hill by the equally old pear trees.
We have a lilac at our other house that we planted the year we bought it. I think it was the first thing we put in. It is nowhere near the size of this but it is steady growing. They are a faithful bush and there is something comforting about the way they look and smell.
Here is one of the pear trees, the blossoms look so pretty with the blue sky in the background.
The pear tree with the lilac behind .
My happy wanderers checking the other trees out. Mr. B. is looking for the perfect place to put his new beehives. I got him a hive for Christmas (total surprise) and we bought one for Valentines Day. He had better make up his mind as the bees are due to arrive any time now.
Jack says never mind that, I smell a squirrel. Maggie says
lets get going back home now.
I'm out of here.
Jack says, "ha, ha I'm going to beat you."
I will keep you updated on the bees and you can follow the whole process along with us, it will be fun. Better go for now. Have a great weekend.

Hi - lovely pictures, and so nice to see some of Jack and Maggie, what
gorgeous dogs. Looking forward to following your bee story - Hope you had a good weekend - xxx
I can't believe it! Here in Canada, I have to wait for almost 3 more months for this to happen. No wonder I'm thinking every day of moving somewhere else or going back to Europe - I miss a real spring very much...
I love old lilacs and the pear blossoms are always so pretty.
I can't wait to hear how the hive comes along, something I have always been fascinated by. What wonderful industry those bees get up to!
