Happy Anniversary

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all have had a nice week.

Today is our wedding anniversary...Happy Anniversary honey, I love you!

We will be having a nice rib eye dinner, grilled by my sweetie, at home this evening and I will be making a nice dessert of molten chocolate cake, yum!

Tomorrow we will get into the old pickup and head to Deception Pass Park, only a few short miles from here, where we will collect some interesting drift wood for some new projects we have been planning to do together. Can't wait to share that with you in the future.

Here is a book that I picked up at the thrift shop.  "French Women Don't Get Fat", it is proving to be a very interesting read.  It is fascinating how differently the French women eat and approach food in general, such a contrast to how we see it in America.

Have any of you read this book and if so, have you applied it in any way?

Here is a visitor to Frederick the cats' feeder.  As you can see, the squirrels  don't seem to mind that I am just on the other side of the glass.  It should be loads of fun this winter to watch and take photos of all of the creatures that come to feed.

This is what I will be up to later today.....I'm not going to get caught by surprise at Thanksgiving being late this year and Christmas right on the heels of our turkey day.  The lights on the fence will be ready to make their debut Sunday, December 1st, when we get back from City House.

Have you started any decorating or just in the planning process?

Wishing you all a very happy weekend...See you next week.  xo

Aw...ain't love grand? Happy Anniversary! And you lucky lady, finding that book at a thrift store. I've wanted to read it, now I'll have to check to see how much it is on Amazon now that you've said it's good.

Enjoy your weekend.

Happy Anniversary to you both!
Have great fun collecting your drift wood.
Can't wait to see what you are up to with it.
Even if I knew the secret of why French women aren't fat, it probably wouldn't help me, as I'm sure that rotten word 'discipline' must be a part of it.

Happy Anniversary! French women use a scary amount of diet pills. However, they do have a really fantastic, positive way of staying thin too, which is simply the culture of only eating at meal times! Children need snacks, adults don't... I've certainly lost weight since I came to share this view!

Happy Anniversary Sherri! Where do you go to find driftwood? I'm always looking for good places to go beachcombing.

Sherri, I tuned in this morning because I wanted to let you know that I think of you every time I dip into the wonderful "The Cook's Cookbook." I've heard of "Why Frenchwomen, etc." Now there's a new one out about Frenchwomen and their beauty routines. It has long been an American conceit that everything French must be superior, perhaps since Julia Child brought French cooking into the mainstream. I'd take these books with a very large grain of salt!

Happy Anniversary! I just told my husband I am going to make my arrangements of greens tomorrow! I don't want to fight frozen soil in pots!

LOVE that shot of the squirrel! I rarely get close enough to see that much detail.

Per tradition, our plan is to work off Thanksgiving dinner by pulling out all the Christmas decorations from the attic.

Happy anniversary! I hope you and your husband had a wonderful anniversary dinner. :)

Happy Anniversary!!
Dinner sounds yummy! Bet that book is interesting and I should be reading it :) Evidently, I haven't applied their way of eating! You'll have so much fun this winter photographing all the critters!
Have a happy Sunday and a great new week.

Happy Anniversary to you!! That little squirrel should keep nice and warm this winter, with a good layer of fat from all those bird seeds.
I always thought French women didn't gain extra weight because so many of them were smokers and because they walked everywhere. Maybe instead of making generalizations about French people, I should read the book. Yes, that might be a very good idea.
