Framed Cooks Blog

Mac and Cheese Cupcakes - Framed Cooks

Yesterday, daughter Kami featured a yummy looking chicken casserole on her blog from the Framed Cooks blog. It is new to me so I went over and took a quick look and liked what I saw. Right off the bat I found these and thought how fun to have these before the little ones go out for Trick or Treat night. Hope you get a chance to check it out.
*
I'm off down to the other house (2 days late because of car repairs $$!!!) and so this is short. I do want to remind you.....
*

There are two surprises that I have this evening...The first one is, I actually have put new things in the Stockshop and the second has been cooked up over at The Kitchen and is a last treat before we all have to get busy with all of our Holiday activities.

I hope you will take a moment and check both out.

Happy Happy Days

I must share some of my thrifty finds of the last two days. These dining chairs rank among the best deals I have ever gotten. I got to the Kiwanis thrift shop shortly after opening and went right out back where they unload the truck and sitting there in a little well behaved group were these beauties. They had to be priced and the nice man in charge said, "How about $5.00 a piece if you take all of them." That makes it $30.00, one captain chair and 5 sides. They are made by Drexel and are the most beautiful wood. They will live at the Vancouver house and I
will be on the lookout for a table to complete the set.
This stopped me in my tracks. The Red Door had the title as "Racing Against The Stork" The photo does nothing for the print. I have always wanted to be a midwife and think this would be fantastic hanging in a birthing center. That's if you could ever pry it out of my hands.

No, I won't be leaving that fabric on the chairs. Those silver things are 2 ladyfinger trays.
Another grandma towel and a cookbook that I once had but don't know where it is..

This is the sweetest folk artish small note board and looks to be made from a small old washboard.

A very nice full sheet from The Company Store, obviously not vintage so I guess I have to sell it as fabric.

If you like bright then this is it.

How precious is this little girls apron?
*
It was a good two days with quite a bit more than I shared with you. Much will go into the shop but that will have to wait until tomorrow as I am pooped out.
*
Good night to you all.

Changes

Sad isn't it? This is a small example of a home lived in at one time but now only used as a pit stop. Here we have an area that was a thriving compost pile.

Well, what do we have here.....Fennel anyone? . . . . . I have been gone from this home for over 5 years and boy does it really show. And so, as I wipe the tears away, I realize that a change is in order and very necessary. Mr. B. and I have discussed it and I will be living half time at each home. In the middle of the week if you see a blur on I-5, then that will be me. I have every intention of being successful at tending both places, keeping up the blogs and keeping the shop full to the brim (I have been known for my determination).
Wish me luck as I load up and head North to the Little House.

Hand Print Fabric

A quick post to say "I miss you all". I have been so, so busy with different family projects that I just now got a chance to take a shot of this and say a few words.

I need to put this piece of hand printed fabric in the shop but don't really know if it is called burlap or something else (that would sound better).
It is a pretty cool piece, it measures about 46" x 42". I'm sure someone would love it for a project but I want to call it by the proper name.

Can anyone help out with this?
Thanks, I will check back in this evening.

Shop Open

I'm heading down I-5 again to the other house but before I go I wanted to tell you that I'm open for business and have already had two sales...Yippee! I have much more to put in and will be doing it on a regular basis (I live to go thrifting). I will most likely be adding more in the next few days as the other house has treasures stored also.

So let me welcome you to my Stockshop at Etsy. I hope you find it to be just like a favorite thrift store that you want to check out all of the time. I will have it on my sidebar as soon as I can catch my breath.

Have a great day....I will check in this evening when I get in and settled.

A few Things For The Shop

Well I think I am ready to dip my toe in the water and put a few things in my Etsy shop tomorrow. These are some vintage linens from my favorite thrift shop, The Red Door, they always bundle things up with yarn scraps so I thought this was just a big sheet but turned out to be a twin set.
Here is the pillow case to show the pattern. I will give full info on it in the shop.

This is a large flat sheet in great shape..most things from the Red Door are. I will measure to see exactly what size it is.
All of these towels made me smile when I saw them because I'm pretty sure my grandmother had some very much the same.

I know these will not appeal to many but there are those who do love the 'granny look', don't know if they like it in the bathroom too but we will see.
Have a good evening.

Tuesday Through The Window

On my quest to do new things I have decided to join up at Swedish House for Tuesday Through . . .The Window. This is a view from my north facing window of the hillside and Frederick asking to come in to have his usual salmon breakfast. . .again (ate once already at 5 am). This will be fun seeing the changes through every ones windows. Go on over and join in if you'd like.

Have a great Tuesday.

I Need Your Opinion

I have shared this photo before, just a small portion of my growing shop collection. I am having trouble deciding on just having an Etsy shop or offering some of my treasures to you, my readers, before they go out in the big world. To be honest I am feeling very intimidated by Etsy and the bazillion sellers there and all of their wonderful wares. . .there I have said it. Now you all know that I am not the brave, fearless person you thought I was. With that off of my chest I must ask your opinion. . .

Should I offer my treasures here? Do you know anyone who does it and how do you feel about it? I have checked it out and you can put a checkout with PayPal, Visa etc... on your blog.

I would appreciate your input on this. Thanks.
